For The Love Of Mouse And My Other Dogs.

As days turned into months I noticed that a lot of my dediction and time was
put into keeping Mouse safe and entertaining her. I felt she was so small that rough playing with the other dogs would end up in her getting hurt. I spend a lot of time with all our dogs and I make sure they all feel loved...until Mouse was born. I still loved all my dogs but the time I spent with the others had greatly reduced. Mouse and the others had separate time with the family because the size difference was like a tennis ball and a basketball. I noticed when Mouse was 3 months old that my dogs seemed depressed and not as full of play as they usually are. The saddest day was when I put outside two of my other dogs for bathroom breaks and when they came inside they both went to their kennels and sat there waiting for me to put them away. It hit me hard that they would both think that this had beome their place.
I knew that there would have to be big changes.
Sept 27th I sent Mouse to live with her new family. I cried for 2 days straight and fought back my heart that cried out that Mouse was mine.
Mouse will always remain with me in loving memories. The family I found is just as loving and wonderful and more then welcomes me to stay in Mouse's life through pictures. I  took up this offer and I am happy to say that I have seen Mouse grow into their hearts too.
Dogs do not belong in kennels they desire human companionship. Mine will not live thinking that our home is not their to share.

I let Mouse go out of the love I have for my other dogs.

Isn't she TINY!
UPDATE MAY 17th!
Dear Christine,
Mouse was just at the vets for a little check up and everything is absolutely perfect. She still just wows people with her absolute love and excitement at seeing everyone. Everyone who meets her adores her. She weighs 6 pounds 9 ounces, although I am sure if she had it her way she would be a bowling ball with legs. She adores every kind of food there is (that she has been able to try anyhow, she really makes an effort to taste anything she finds!).
She has grown some and is a little taller. She loves being outside and bonds around like a little black jackrabbit the second the door opens.
She was so funny today. When I first got home from work I put her out and she found one of those giant black ants...not the tiny one's. She followed it with complete fascination as it paniced and ran crazily across the deck and disappeared from sight.  Mouse lost no time finding another one, little tail stub wagging, and chasing it until it escaped too. I couldn't stop laughing.

She jogs with Karleigh after school and still goes to spend Mondays at Mom's and Dad's. She is almost a year now June 18th, but now they are used to having her over on Mondays, neither one of them wants to give her up. She loves them too, going just wild around them making little cooing yodeling sounds the second my Dad comes through the door till he picks her up.  We bath her about once every other week. She has soft fluffy fur that will mat if she isn't brushed.

A little bias I know but I have to tell you we still think she is THE most gorgeous puppy in the whole world!!!!!!!!! She has a wonderful temperament, is very rarely a little growly if you try to pick her up and move her when she is half asleep. She LOVES to harrass the cat, sneaking up and pouncing on it just out of claws reach, then barking to make it huffy. She hopes around bum in the air, chest to the floor, eyes bright, wagging her little rear end as if she expects the cat will play with her this time instead of stalk away. She preformed an amazing feat with a stolen muffin, one the kids left left next to the computer when they went to get a drink, she hopped onto the couch, on the computer table, nabbed it, and then when Garrette lifted her, as she was trying to hoark as much of it down as possible, she would bite and swallow and before it fell too far she would bite again...good thing Garrette's fingers were not in the way *L*.

Anyway I could ramble on about her all day but I really should go start dinner.
She really is a little beauty, Christine. I still very much feel like I want and need to say "Thank you" every single time I write. We love her dearly!

Puppy kisses to her first Mommy!!! And a hug from me!

Lezli and Family.
